Contains two voyages: on the HUNTRESS (Ship) of New Bedford, Oct. 4, 1847 - May 7, 1850, master Edward T. Shearman (Sherman 397, Starbuck 444); and on the CORAL (Ship) of New Bedford, Sept. 10, 1850 - July 11, 1853, master Edward T. Shearman (Sherman 196, Starbuck 466). Logbook of the Huntress contains whale stamps; record of whales taken; oil stowed; crew's account; crew list. Logbook of the Coral includes sketches of whale flukes, miscellaneous sketches. At end: ships spoke; whales taken by ship MOUNT VERNON, New Bedford, 1838; misc. personal notes.
