Contains two voyages: June 12, 1841-Sept. 16, 1844. Sherman 471. And Aug. 28-Oct. 16, 1845. Contains sketches of vessels, seascapes, profile views, whale stamps. At front and back of journal: Longitude and latitude correction tables. At end (in a different hand): lists of whales raised on ship JOSEPH MAXWELL, Fairhaven, 1849-1852; ship MIDAS, New Bedford, 1853-1856.
