Contains two voyages: on the ship NIMROD of New Bedford, Sept. 23, 1848 - Dec. 8, 1849, master Wanton H. Sherman (Sherman 602, Starbuck 454); and on the ship JIREH PERRY of New Bedford, Sept. 13, 1860 - Jan. 22, 1863, master Wanton H. Sherman (Sherman 429, Starbuck 574). The journal of the NIMROD was kept by the shipmaster's wife, Marianna Sherman, who sailed on the voyage with her husband.
