Primarily consists of Joseph Gardner's journal kept aboard the ship ROSALIE. Contains sketches of whales. Contains oil records; lists of whaling grounds used by the ships WINSLOW and FREDERICK AUGUSTUS; dimensions for trypots and whale boats; poem copied at sea June 18, 1830 on the ship MAGNET. At end: manuscript copy of "A Poetical journal kept on board the ship DAUPHIN, "Sept. 4, 1820-July 1823."
