School sharing surveys -- restricted, 2018
Scope and Contents
Series 3, Education and Research, includes materials created by UPP Arts for classroom use as well as published and unpublished resources created by others and given to UPP Arts. Its subseries reflect the four themes of UPP Arts’ programming: indigenous history, industrial history, socioeconomic history, and environmental concerns. Subseries 4, Environment, compiles minutes of stakeholder meetings and other documents relating to the remediation of the former site of the Gorham Manufacturing Company. Subseries 5 collects historical research on Mashapaug Pond and its surrounding neighborhoods; it includes a large set of maps. A final subseries documents the formal workshops that UPP Arts offered to teaching artists and other educators starting in 2012, usually at the beginning of each programming year. For most years, the resource packets UPP Arts assembled for educators have been kept within their relevant thematic subseries. However, the final retrospective packet for 2017’s theme, “Four Stories,” is included in the last subseries. Additional educational resources can be found in Series 4.
