General
This series represents the bulk of the collection. It contains primarily lithographs of battle scenes, camps of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts regiments, and important officers of the Union Army, illustrations and prints of army life and maps of significant locations. This series also contains a small number of photographs depicting views from Signal Station in Hilton Head, South Carolina, a photo of three young soldiers, a photograph of the officers of the Great Stone Fleet and one photograph of Ambrose Burnside and officers. Additionally there are a very small number of manuscript items, and several posters and certificates printed after the war in honor of war veterans.
