Scope and Contents
Clippings from a variety of sources, mostly 1887-1915. First page has article "Falmouth in the Whale Fishery". Lower right corner has note written by George L. Bowman describing his whaling career. His handwriting throughout, on 1905 article, label says George L. Bowman, 19 Shawmut Ave, New Bedford, Mass. Contains a variety of clippings, some dated, including interview with Fred Douglass, the Borden Case, Junior mutiny, Benjamin Russell prints (Old Whaling Prints), Sharon Mutiny Story told by George [S. sic] Bowman, a survivor of Sharon Mutiny, obit of Capt. Andrew T. Hamblen, Thomas W. Nye, Sgt. William H. Carney.
