Fine, 1952

 File — Box: 3, Folder: 71

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

Series 1, Photographs, is arranged into 4 subseries: Photos by Surname (1.1), Photos by Subject (1.2), Tommy Gomes Photos (1.3), and Family Albums (1.4). In Photos by Surname, files contain all associated surnames; researchers should not assume family connections between all individuals. Note - Pike Street was renamed Alves Way on April 4th, 1998, in honor of the Alves family, who lived on that street for 16 generations. In 2021, the intersection of Ives Street and Wickenden Street was renamed Britto Way in tribute to the Britto family, in particular John “Johnny” Britto and Eufemia “Fama” Britto, two lifelong Fox Point residents and pillars of their community. Tommy Gomes was a custodian at Fox Point Manor for many years and photographed numerous community and cultural events. See also: Series 3, Cape Verdean Community.
