Biographical / Historical

The tools in this collection are believed to have been used by Clara Buffum at her Marigold Bindery during a period when she was renting space from the Handicraft Club in Providence. Buffum was a practitioner and scholar of bookbinding, publishing Hand-Bound Books: The Old Method of Bookbinding in 1935.
