Series 1 contains material related to the general administration of the Greater Providence YMCA from its founding in 1853 through 2003. Subseries 1 includes organizational documents such as the founding constitution, internal and external correspondence, YMCA circulars, financial reports, invoices, orders, and receipts. Subseries 2 includes board meeting minutes from the founding Board of Managers, the later Board of Directors, and the Boards of Management of individual branches. Subseries 3 contains published copies and drafts of annual reports as well as invitations to and programs for annual meetings, annual meeting minutes, and annual reports for individual branches. Subseries 4 contains membership ledgers documenting sustaining membership and applications for associate and active membership. Subseries 5 includes building plans for various YMCA buildings in Providence and programs related to their dedications.
