Rhode Island COVID-19 Archive
Scope and Contents
The Rhode Island COVID-19 Archive consists of digital files that document the experiences of Rhode Islanders during the COVID-19 pandemic. It includes textual descriptions, visual depictions, artwork, audio and film recordings in various digital file formats that document the initial months of lockdown at the start of the pandemic, various stages of re-opening and the long term impact of the pandemic on people and communities within the state.
Individuals could contribute single items directly to the website, but individuas and groups could create collections. These collections represent bodies of work by individuals (such as an ongoing photographic or journaling project) as well as collective work by classrooms, community groups or organizations (for example, a group of essays by a single school classroom).

Biographical / Historical
The Rhode Island COVID-19 Archive is a crowdsourced archive of observations, experiences and creative work about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Rhode Islanders. The website was launched in April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic and was closed to submissions on June 30, 2023. The project was a collaboration between Providence Public Library and Rhode Island Historical Society and publicly accessible via the website https://ricovidarchive.org/.
