This collection consists of records of the construction of the vessel as well as the first three whaling voyages of the Betsey Williams out of Stonington including shipping papers, correspondence, crew lists, bills and receipts and crew accounts.

The collection includes the records of three whaling voyages of the schooner Aurora including articles of agreement, correspondence, crew lists, bills & receipts and crew accounts. It includes fairly complete documentation of all three voyages including the expenses of the work in Fairhaven prior to the 1886 voyage.

The collection includes records of all five of the voyages of the Emma Jane while Osborn was agent of the ship. These materials include shipping papers, correspondence, crew lists, bills & receipts and crew accounts. In particular, there are bills and receipts related to the condition of the vessel and repairs related to hurricane damage as well as the condemnation and sale after the final voyage.

The collection includes the records of ten voyages of the Thomas Hunt between 1872 and 1884, including receipts and bills of sale, shareholders’ agreements, insurance certificates, crew lists and crew agreements, supplies and slops accounts, shipping papers, governmental documents such as foreign manifests and customs documents, and correspondence with ship’s agent Joseph N. Hancox.

Mosher’s correspondence from a voyage of the Robert Morrison from 1880 to 1884, along with agent’s and owner’s memoranda and information about shipments of oil from this same time period. Scope and Contents This collection contains papers from two of the President’s whaling voyages: 1865-1869 under master Edmund Kelley, and 1869-1872 under master Eber C. Almy. The papers for the second of these voyages are scant. The collection also includes papers regarding the ship’s building and maintenance history which are unrelated to any specific voyage. This collection contains fairly complete documentation, excluding correspondence,for the four voyages between 1865-1876 under the management of Charles Tucker of New Bedford. There are scant papers remaining for the voyages managed by Samuel Osborn, other than the account books in the PPL collection.
