The Providence Public Library’s Collection of Tattoo Trade Cards amd Business Cards includes business cards from tattoo artists, tattoo shops, and suppliers primarily located in the United States, though there are also a small number of international tattooists represented as well. Two separate and distinct time periods are portrayed: items from the early to mid 20th century (c.1906-c.1960) and items from the late 20th to early 21st century (c.1980-c.2019).

Texaco Oil Co, Providence terminal photograph album

This photograph album includes black and white prints documenting the Texaco Oil terminal in Providence, Rhode Island. The bulk of the images show the impact of the Hurricane of 1938 over the duration of the storm as well as the damage afterwards. The collection includes the records of ten voyages of the Thomas Hunt between 1872 and 1884, including receipts and bills of sale, shareholders’ agreements, insurance certificates, crew lists and crew agreements, supplies and slops accounts, shipping papers, governmental documents such as foreign manifests and customs documents, and correspondence with ship’s agent Joseph N. Hancox.
